LETICIA MORENO

Commissioned by the Houston Symphony and dedicated to Leticia Moreno, Aurora is the new violin concerto written by Jimmy Lopez. Inspired by the Northern Lights on one end, and Leticia’s illuminating playing style on the other, this groundbreaking work came out of a close collaboration between the composer and soloist. An album featuring the live recording of the premiere with HSO and Music Director Andrés Orozco Estrada is scheduled for release next season.

After recording some of Piazzolla’s most beloved hits on an album for Deutsche Grammophon, Quinteto Tango Nuevo continues the Piazzolla journey with extensive international touring. Piazzolla regarded the quintet as his musical laboratory, with a perfect blend of improvisation and structure. Quinteto Tango Nuevo is one of Leticia’s most cherished projects born out of her innate spontaneity as a natural communicator.

Spanish Landscapes is Leticia’s personal exploration into her home country’s profound musical heritage.
